Montville Town News

The Montville town warrant has been posted and if anyone wishes to read it prior to town meeting they can find a copy posted on the outside bulletin board (under the glass) at the town office, a second copy at the transfer station, and a third copy at Peavey’s Store. Town meeting is March 24 at 10 a.m.

There will be an information meeting regarding the Food Sovereignty Ordinance on Friday March 16th at the Montville Grange. Potluck is at 5 p.m. and discussion and questions at 6 p.m.

Two delegates were chosen at the Montville Democratic Caucus on March 4. Asher Sizeler-Fletcher and Chris Marshall will attend the convention happening May 18-20 in Lewiston.

The 16th Annual Senior College Festival of Art Show will be June 7 to 10 at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast. Maine artists, 50 and up are invited to enter. Registration is from March 1 to 31 and forms are available at, or at the Senior College office at the Hutchinson Center. For more information call 338-8033.

Liberty Library News

Dwight Gagnon is exhibiting his artwork during March. He considers himself an amateur artist, creating for family and friends, and entering local fair exhibits. “I use art as social connection and a way of maintaining sanity. My current studio is a temporary arrangement near a wood stove in the basement of my home. I work mostly in the winter, and I’m most productive when there is a raging snowstorm outside, the stove is burning, the cat is sleeping close by, and there is good music on the radio.” Check out some of his work at

Up the Road

There will be a pancake breakfast on Sunday March 25 from 7:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m. at the Dirigo Grange Hall in Freedom. Price is $6 and the menu is choice of plain or blueberry pancakes, maple syrup, sausage, home fries, orange juice,and coffee.
