Happy Mother's Day!

Montville plow driver Jonathan Thornhill has resigned from the remainder of his plow contract for medical reasons according to the April 9 selectmen's meeting minutes.

Congratulations to Isaac Mills who just got his driver's license! Way to go buck; keep an eye out for those deer.

The Montville road committee will be holds its second meeting at 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday May 7. If anyone is interested in volunteering, or just learning more, all are welcome to attend. Watch for a big sink hole on Burnham Hill Road heading into Freedom on the left; cones have been placed. Halldale has been graded and issues reported last week have been fixed.

Fundraising events for Bentley Ripley

Bentley Ripley is 5 years-old and has been diagnosed with a rare disease. There are several fundraising events planned to help raise money for his medical expenses.

May 5 - Saturday, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a benefit potluck dinner for Bentley Ripley at the Varney Building,  24 Veterans Highway, Brooks. Free will donation at the door. For more information contact Coleen at 322-5889.

May 12 - Saturday, Widows Sons motorcycle ride. Registration is at 8 a.m. at the Belfast Masonic Lodge.  Cost is $20 a rider and $10 a passenger. Two-wheels and four-wheels welcome. May 13 rain date.

May 19 - Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. 5k "For Bentley's Sake" Run/Walk. Starting at Liberty Community Hall, Pinnacle Road, Liberty. $25.00 per person includes event T-shirt if signed up by May 10th. Bottle Drive at 10-4 Redemption on Route 3 in Montville and make sure to tell them they're for Bentley.

One last thing... Bring your used printer toner cartridges to the Montville town office for the Fire Department. They turn them into cash. Thank you in advance!
