Lake St. George Brewing Co. is hosting the second annual Ales for Tails fundraiser on Sunday, July 21, fromnoon to 4 p.m. They are partnering with Miracle German Shepherd Dog Rescue of Maine once again to bring you another day for the dogs.

Join them for raffles, live music, food by Salty Dog BBQ and catering, pastries and dog treats by J.A. Bakery, and lots of German Shepherds to love.

The Unity Barn Raisers organization is heading up a gleaning initiative focused on reducing food waste, supporting hunger relief, providing a service to farmers and enhancing overall community health. Farmers and gardeners, let us know when you have extra, left over, or second-quality crops you would like to donate. We can arrange a time to drop off, can facilitate pick-up, or even provide trained and supervised volunteers to come harvest from your fields. Donations are tax-deductible!

Volunteers, join our “glean team” as a volunteer and be contacted as gleaning needs arise. Support is needed to harvest, transport, wash and pack produce, and perform quality control. Farm and garden experience are a plus, but not required.

FMI: Please contact Unity Barn Raisers, ubr@uninets.net or 948-9005.
