Get-well wishes

Christine Cox Jackson feel last week and broke her hip. She was taken to Portland Hospital. Christine is at New England Rehab at 335 Brighton Ave., Room 203A, Portland, ME 04102. She will be there maybe for two weeks.

They are planning on three hours of therapy a day and re-evaluating daily to see how she is doing. She cannot put any weight on her right leg for a least six weeks. She may be able to come home with a wheelchair and home health care, then will need therapy to walk after her hip heals.

Hope you're home soon, Christine, and our thoughts and prayers are with you in your recovery.

Anniversary

Dana and Lynn Roberts are celebrating their wedding anniversary and we all wish you both a very happy anniversary and many more happy years together.

Birthdays

Belated happy birthday to Janet Tortora Ihnken whose birthday was June 20. Hope you had a fabulous birthday!

Happy birthday to Dawn Roberts on June 30. Wishing you a really great day!

Maple Thursdays

Simmons and Daughters Sugar House at 261 Weymouth Road, Morrill, phone 342-2444, is having Maple Thursdays this summer. They sell pure maple syrup, Grade A golden. They offer the maple syrup for a limited time so if you want some you should get there really soon. Their maple syrup is really good; it's made right there. They offer private and group tours. Maple Thursdays are from 5 to 8 p.m. They don't know exactly how they are covered for seating, so feel free to bring your lawn chair.

New in town

We have new neighbors on Morey Hill Road. Brian and Cheryl have bought Nicole Knight's place. They are fixing up the house and building a new garage. Brian and Cheryl are such wonderful neighbors. They are such nice people and so easy to get to know, it feels like we've known them for a long time instead of just a few days.

Brian and Cheryl have moved here from Connecticut. Welcome to our neighborhood and to Maine! Cheryl, welcome back to Maine — she was born in Lincoln, Maine. You both will love our town. So if anyone sees these to awesome people, say hello -- you will really enjoy getting to know them.

Everyone have a really great week and weekend.

Quote of the week
