Morrill News

By Brenda Harford | Nov 09, 2019

Good snowy afternoon hope you all are all safe traveling. I really need your news to put in your town column. I would really like to put in some of your news items.

Please join us for a special town meeting Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Community Center. We will be voting to see if the town will change the positions of clerk, treasurer and tax collector from elected positions to appointed positions, to be effective for the 2020 budget year and to be included with the budget at the regular town meeting. These positions would be appointed by the Board of Selectmen for a term of one year at an hourly rate.

If that article is not approved, we will vote to see if the town will agree to have the treasurer duties include the tax collector duties in the position for the 2020 budget year.

We will also vote on a plan for the use of the reimbursed sand/salt shed monies to build a vault for town records, remodel the Town office, and surface the office floor.

Happy birthday to Carol Place Larrabee on Nov. 11 and to Annalee Littlefield on Nov. 10.

I'm sorry I got Annalee's birthday date wrong and wanted to make it right in this week's paper.

Happy birthday to Harper Reynolds on Nov. 16. We all hope you have a really special day.

You all have a very good week and hope no more snow until late December.

Quote of the week

When you focus on problems, you'll have more problems. When you focus on possibilities, you'll have more opportunities.
