Morrill Fire Department news

Diana and Jethro Pease celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on Sept. 9.

The Fire Department recently conducted annual pump testing, which takes several hours. Thanks to those who Volunteered for this duty. It's reported all went well. Former Chief Jethro Pease is planning to start a junior firefighter training program as soon as three or four youths are interested.

There are many duties 14- to 18-year-olds can perform as firefighters. They are not allowed any interior duties. Rules and duties may be obtained from Chief Pat Scribner, 342-2129, or Jethro Pease, 342-5910. Both young men and women are welcome. For more information call Jethro or Pat.

Social distancing and masks will be in place. Parents will be required to read the rules and sign a permission slip prior to class. This is open for youth who are interested in joining the Belmont Fire Department, also.

Belmont students would need to review that town's rules with Chief Ron Harford.

Volunteers to assist with minor cleaning, repairs or painting projects are still needed to assist the department. If you have a talent, are willing to contribute a couple of hours improving our Fire Department, again call Chief Pat Scribner or Jethro Pease to discuss. Be safe.

The Morrill Fire Department is still looking for firefighters. If you are interested, please call Pat Scribner.

Birthdays

Happy belated birthday Becky Nibby on Sept. 9. Happy belated birthday Mackie Harford, also on Sept. 9. So very sorry I didn't get your birthdays in on time, but I hope you both had a very great day.

Happy birthday to a great friend and neighbor, Brian Simmons, on Sept. 15.

Happy birthday to a very awesome brother, Randall Harford, on Sept. 16.

Happy birthday to a very special sister, Raelene Harford Fuller.

I hope you all have a very special day.

Reminder

School has started, so please watch out for students walking or riding bicycles. Also keep an eye out for your children waiting for the bus cause there is a person with New Hampshire plates riding around for kids. Let's watch out for all these children and report anything suspicious.

I just want to wish all the students going to school best wishes and have a great school year.

Had a birthday barbecue for my mom on Sunday, Sept. 6, outside. We all had a wonderful time. We all made sure Mom had a great time and she did.

You all have a really great week and let's all be kind to one another and continue to help one another.
