Anniversaries:

Happy Anniversary to Nate and Kim Loper Dennison Feb.18, as well as to Cliff and Raelene Harford Fuller Feb. 21.

Here is to many more happy years and many more memories.

Morrill Volunteer Fire Department news:

Calls for service remain quiet. We recently had an in-station stand-by for one of our neighboring towns as they responded to a chimney fire. A crew of five was ready to respond if needed.

Our firefighter profile this week is Richard Charette. Richard is a 15-year veteran of the department, having been recruited by Jethro soon after moving to Morrill.

He lives on South Main Street with his wife, Helene. They have two grown children and are now proud grandparents. Richard is a lieutenant on the department, and often is one of the first to respond.

Richard has been a strong backbone of our department. He contributes greatly to cleaning, maintenance and other duties that make your fire department strong. He is always one of the first to volunteer to pick up used goods, such as furniture for the annual auction.

Again, this is one more of your neighbors that donates his time and skills to making our community a better place. How about you? Thank you, Richard.

The bottle and can redemption cage is on the corner of the fire station lot. Thank you to all who contributed. Please make sure your cans and bottles are in a secure container. We will recycle heavy duty plastic bags by placing on the cage. Please take one or two for your needs.

We need a volunteer or volunteers to do some sheet rock mudding and sanding in a small room at the fire station. This is an opportunity to spend a few hours helping your fire department.

Contact Chief Scribner at 342-2129 or Jethro at 342-5910 for more information about the project. Thank you.

Attention for all Pre-K parents:

Pre-K at Gladys Weymouth School has openings, along with everywhere else, for the fall program.

The WCAP early childhood program is accepting applications for our fall programs! If you have a child between 3 to 5 years of age, navigate to waldocap.org, click on 'Programs,' 'Early Childhood' and hit 'Apply,' or call 338-3827 to apply as well.

Someone from our offices will be in touch to set up an appointment to complete your application. At that meeting, you will need to bring income verification, your child's birth certificate and proof of residency.

Hope you all are staying warm, and just remember, spring is just around the corner. Everyone stay healthy and keep on smiling.

Also, be kind to one another. There is too much hatefulness in this world right now. Continue to say hi, be kind, smile and be friendly to one another. Have a wonderful week.

Quote of the week:

"Stay positive and happy, work hard and don't give up. Be open to criticism and keep learning. Surround yourself with happy, warm and genuine people." — Tena Desae
