Morrill news

By Brenda Harford | Apr 24, 2021

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of William Vachon who passed away.

Happy birthday to Faith Maxcy on May 2. Hoping you have a awesome birthday.

Happy birthday to Loni Thorpe on May 4. You have a very special day.

Fire Department news

Recent calls include a motor vehicle with minor injury on North Main Street and mutual aid assist to Waldo for a structure fire off Route 7. Waldo, Belfast and Brooks departments also responded.

Chief Patrick Scribner retired as chief of the department on April 17 at the annual town meeting. Pat served 13 years.

Taking on the responsibility of chief is demanding, not only to the chief but to their spouse and family also. Pat and Candy have three grown children and now plan to relax a little and enjoy life and grandchildren.

Thank you so much, Pat, Candy and family for all your years of service. We all hope you have a very happy retirement. Now sit back and enjoy life and enjoy each and every day. We will all miss you but will see you around.

Just wanted to let you know of a new bottle redemption opened now to serve you. The new bottle redemption is at 628 New England Road, Searsmont, called M's Bottle Redemption, Owners are Melinda (Morse) and Ryan Fries. Phone is 322-5469 and they are opened Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Go check them out. They are really great people.

Today I'm writing to you all about what's going on and I'm freezing and probably tomorrow we all will be too hot! I'm enjoying each and every day. You all have a really great week and a better weekend!  Enjoy one another and keep on smiling.

Quote of the week

Note to self: You can't control how other people receive your energy. Anything you do or say gets filtered through the lens of whatever personal (stuff) they are going through at the moment, which is not about you. Just keep doing your thing with as much integrity and love as possible. —
