Mount View tramples competition in midweek quad-meet

Mustangs earn wins over Lincoln Academy, MCI, Monmouth Academy

Thorndike — The stable of Mustang wrestlers for Mount View saddled up and used their home gymnasium to their advantage, as they stomped to a trio of wins in a Wednesday, Dec. 20 quad-meet.

The Mustangs finished 3-0 on the night, as they earned victories over Monmouth Academy 42-6, Lincoln Academy of Newcastle 35-30 and Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield 36-30.

The individual Mount View results, with Mustangs listed first, were:

120 pounds — Morgan Fonger was pinned by Tyler Baker, MCI; beat Leo Wilson, MA, by injury default; and won by forfeit over Lincoln Academy.

126 pounds — Emma Fonger won by forfeit over Monmouth Academy and Lincoln Academy; and beat Adelaide Mullen, LA, by technical fall.

138 pounds — Mark Ward III pinned Cole Steeves, MCI; pinned Madison Wright, MA; and won by forfeit over Lincoln Academy.

145 pounds — Zachary Ward pinned Brayden Higgens, MCI; pinned Katie Jordan, MA; and won by forfeit over Lincoln Academy.

152 pounds — Michael Cole pinned Trenton Basford, MCI; and won by forfeit over Monmouth Academy and Lincoln Academy.

160 pounds — Jason Barnard won by forfeit over MCI; pinned Elyse Homer, MA; and pinned Dylan Soohey, LA.

170 pounds — Matthew Barnard won by forfeit over MCI; pinned Andew Blundon, MA; and was pinned by Isaac Knapp, LA.
