Searsport — On Sunday, March 15, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Penobscot Marine Museum continues its celebration of Maine's bicentennial with Maine-ly a Celebration – Happy Birthday Maine! On March 15, 1820, Maine became a state.

Participants will join in celebrating Maine’s 200th birthday with crafts and activities including temporary tattoos, slate art, bean bag toss, a photo booth, and Maine state trivia.

In a fast-moving, 50-minute program starting at 1 p.m., Penobscot Marine Museum Education Director Jeana Ganskop will lead visitors through 200 years of Maine history, using 200 images from the museum collection.

The cost of this program is $5 for museum members, $8 for non-members, $20 for families, and free for children 7 and younger. The program will be held at the museum’s Old Vestry building, 2 Church St., Searsport.

In case of inclement weather, this program will be canceled if the Searsport First Congregational Church cancels worship service. The museum will also post cancellations on its Facebook page at Facebook.com/Penobscot. For more information contact Jeana Ganskop at 548-2529, ext. 213, or jganskop@pmm-maine.org.
