Max Tomlin made six saves on seven shots in net for the Mustangs, while Ethan Nurick made 14 saves on 17 shots in goal for the Purple Panthers.

Overlock got Mount View on the board with 31:44 left in the first half, but Livshits knotted the score for Waterville moments later at the 26:38 mark.

Jacobs scored what proved the game-winner with 3:11 left in the half, while Overlock scored an insurance goal, on an assist from Darrett Fowler, in the second half. Overlock also had an assist in the win for the ‘Stangs.

Ellsworth 6, Belfast 1

Luke Hamlin scored, off an assist from Caleb Hall-Arnett, while Bradly Smith (2 goals), Dylan Tapin (goal), Zach Harris (goal) and Nate Mason (goal) scored for Ellsworth.

Ellsworth held a 25-11 advantage in shots and a 13-2 edge in corner kicks. Brandon Cournoyer made eight saves in goal for the Lions, while Hunter Fernald made four saves in net for the Eagles.

Girls soccer

Waterville 3, Mount View 2

At Thorndike Sept. 5, the Purple Panthers scored twice in the final 5:30 of the game to rally to defeat the Mustangs. Waterville led 1-0 at halftime.

Sage Pound and Ariana Allen scored for Mount View and Hannah Clifford logged an assist, while Anika Elias scored twice for Waterville and Mack St. Pierre once for the visitors.

Shala Davis made eight saves on 15 shots in net for the Mustangs, while Ally Drew made five saves on 10 shots for the Purple Panthers.

“It's tough to lose it that way in the end, but they're not the defending Northern [Class] B champs for no reason,” said Mount View coach David Page. “We played them even and went toe to toe with them the entire game, but in the end their experience, and our inexperience, came through. The girls aren't satisfied with just playing well. We're disappointed and will definitely learn and grow from this one.”

Searsport 2, Deer Isle-Stonington 0

At Deer Isle Sept. 5, the Vikings blanked the host Mariners. Searsport led 1-0 at halftime.

Casey Snow scored on a direct kick in the first half for Searsport, while Makenzie Alley scored on a penalty kick in the second half for the visitors.

Brooklynn Alberts and Abby Stemp split time in net for the Vikings. Searsport held a 13-1 edge in shots and a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.
