Mustangs 11th, Fuller second at Nokomis Warrior Clash

Newport — The Mustangs of Mount View were one of 17 teams to take part in the Nokomis Warrior Clash on Saturday, Jan. 5.

Mount View wrangled 21 points on the day, as that earned the Mustangs 11th place.

The team scores were: Foxcroft Academy of Dover-Foxcroft 150, Oxford Hills of South Paris 138.5, Nokomis 133, Mount Blue/Spruce Mountain of Farmington and Jay 124, Dexter 123, Dirigo of Dixfield 79.5, Deering or Portland 59, Westbrook/Gorham 47, Skowhegan 38.5, Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield 33, Mount View 21, Independents 18, Madison 12, Monmouth Academy 6, Messalonskee of Oakland 3, and Bangor and Nokomis "B" no score.

Nathaniel Fuller — second at 285 pounds — was the only Mustang to grab a top-four finish.

The individual Mount View results, with Mustangs listed first, were:

113 pounds — Davin Barnard was pinned by Jayda Stevens, OxH, at 1:22; pinned Aliviah Anderson, Dex, at 0:53; and lost to Malik Keresey, MCI, 8-6.

126 pounds — Morgan Fonger pinned Joe Mosher, MtB, at 1:49; was pinned by Grade Reardon, Fox, at 0:10; and was pinned by Rachel Tuck, Skow, at 1:50.

132 pounds — Emma Fonger pinned Aaron Domenech, Nok, at 0:29; was pinned by Caleb Weeks, Dex, at 3:30; and was pinned by Mohammed Muhee, Deer, at 3:54.

285 pounds — Nathaniel Fuller pinned Hunter Gleason, MtB, at 2:57; pinned Nick Lincoln, Nok, at 4:19; and lost to Colton Carlow, Dir, 4-1, in the championship final. Fuller finished second.
