New reference librarian offers Tech Tuesdays, one-on-one help

Dec 01, 2018

Belfast — Sharon Pietryka has joined the Belfast Free Library staff as reference and special collections librarian.

In her new capacity, Pietryka is offering two new ways for people to get help and take advantage of what the library has to offer.

The first is the “Tech Tuesday” series. Every Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to noon on the third floor of the library, Sharon will be available for drop-in assistance with any technology-related topic. The third floor reference computers will be available for use, or you can bring your device. Keep this in mind after the holidays when you may be figuring out how to use new electronic gadgets.

The second opportunity is the “Book-a-Librarian” service. You can now set up an appointment with the reference and special collections librarian for 30 minutes of one-on-one assistance for more in-depth help. Sample topics include navigating the library catalog, using Digital Maine Library’s reference databases, downloading and reading e-books, setting up an email address, etc.

Both Tech Tuesday and Book-a-Librarian are free and open to the public.

For more information or to make an appointment, contact Sharon Pietryka at 338-3884, ext. 25, or
