No charges will be filed against the driver of a truck who rear-ended another vehicle on Route 1A in Frankfort.

Chief Deputy Jason Trundy of Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said Aug. 31 no charges will be pursued against the driver of a commercial cargo truck who was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Route 1A in Frankfort.

On May 8, police responded to the two-vehicle crash at 2:17 p.m. Kathy Harriman, 55, was stopped in the northbound lane in her 2015 Nissan Rogue, waiting to turn left into a driveway at 164 Main Road North, according to Deputy Andrew Mulligan’s crash report.

A northbound 2012 Hino box truck driven by Adam Jones, 35, of Brewer struck Harriman’s vehicle from behind and both vehicles traveled about 400 feet down the road before coming to a rest, Mulligan said in his report.

Harriman was found dead at the scene. Jones was not injured in the crash.

The crash was reconstructed by Maine State Police troopers.

Hmmm. Bet it'll be a different story in civil court.
