North Atlantic Girls Gymnastics Team Wins Travis Mills Invitational

The North Atlantic Gymnastics Academy girls' team traveled to Augusta last weekend to participate in the Travis Mills Never Give Up, Never Quit Invitational. The gymnastics meet was hosted by Decal Gymnastics in Augusta. All proceeds from the event go to support the Travis Mills Foundation which provides support veterans and their families.

Audrey Scott of Hope competed in the level 9 division. She placed second on vault (8.0) and 3rd on both uneven bars (6.5) and floor exercise (7.6). She also placed 3rd in all-around (29.575).

The NAGA level 7 team placed first scoring 106.85. The level 7 team is comprised of Elise Condon of Rockport, Camden Contakos of Rockport, and Julia Peasley of Lincolnville. Individual level 7 highlights included a 1st place all-around finish for Camden (36.15) in the junior age division. She also placed 2nd on vault (8.75), 1st on uneven bars (8.95), 1st on balance beam (9.175), and 1st on floor exercise (9.275). In the senior division, Elise placed 1st all-around (35.95), 1st on uneven bars (9.225), and 2nd on vault (8.8) and balance beam (8.85) and 3rd on floor exercise (9.075). Julia placed 3rd all-around (34.75), 1st on vault (9.2), 2nd on floor (9.1), and 3rd on uneven bars (8.5).

Audrey Strong of Camden competed in level 6. She placed first all-around (34.975). She also placed 1st on uneven bars (9.0) and 2nd on both vault (8.7) and balance beam (9.025).

The level 5 team placed 2nd as a team (102.675) behind Decal Gymnastics. Individual highlights include Abbie Anderson of Port Clyde placed 1st on uneven bars (8.675) and 3rd in the all-around (34.325). Abbie also placed 3rd on vault (8.5) and floor exercise (8.55). In the senior division, Bella Barnes-Demers of Lincolnville placed 1st on vault (9.2). Abby Hise of Lincolnville placed 1st on balance beam (9.15).

The level 4 team also placed 2nd (103) behind Decal Gymnastics. Individual highlights include a 1st place all-around finish for Cadence Ankers of Rockport in the senior division (36.2). Cadence also placed 1st on vault (9.1) and floor exercise (9.1).She was also 2nd on balance beam (9.4). In the junior division, Ella McClean of Warren placed 2nd on vault (8.7).

The level 3 team placed 3rd with a 106.2. Rowan McWilliams of Camden placed 1st on vault (9.35). She was also 3rd on uneven bars (8.5) and floor exercise (8.7). McKenzie Felter of Warren placed 3rd on vault (9.05) and uneven bars (8.6). Grace McClean of Warren placed 1st on vault (9.2).

NAGA also had Xcel gymnasts compete in the Xcel Gold division. Chloe Burgess of Lincolnville placed 1st on floor exercise (9.2).

Level 4-9 girls from North Atlantic Gymnastics will be travel to Springfield, MA this weekend to participate in the Time Dagget National Invitational. Good luck, girls!
