Destination Imagination

Two teams from the Drinkwater K-8 School traveled to Bangor March 24 to compete in the Maine State Destination Imagination Tournament. Both teams returned with first place trophies and were escorted back to school with sirens blaring by the Northport Fire Department and the Sheriff’s Department!

The Middle School team has the opportunity to compete in the Destination Imagination Global Finals in Knoxville, Tenn., May 23-26, with students from all over the U.S. and 38 countries. They have entered into a massive fundraising campaign to raise the sum needed for the trip. There will a 20-pound lobster raffle, solicitation for donations and gift certificates to be bid on at the spaghetti dinner Saturday, April 28, at the school. Please call the school at 338-3430 for raffle tickets and further information.

Northport Food Pantry is open the third Wednesday each month, 8 to 11 a.m. You can contact them directly by phone to donate and/or volunteer at 323-9742.
