Nothing Short about Donna's ace; women's play at Country View

Brooks — The following is news from the Country View Golf Club:

On Sunday, Sept.13, Donna Short of Swanville recorded a hole-in-one on the 125-yard, par-3 ninth hole. The accurate tee shot, made with a 28-degree hybrid club, was witnessed by Susan Hart and Fran White. It was Short's second ace on the course's ninth green, but first with witnesses. It was her first official career hole-in-one.

On Thursday, Sept. 10, in women's league play, first-place honors went to Nancy Carney, Tammy Wolverton and Beth Curtis. Two teams tied for second: Nancy Baxter, Carol Courter, Joette Fields and Donna Nason, as well as Judy Arsenault, Susan Hart, Jean Raven and Fran White.

The pin winner was Joette Fields on the fourth and ninth holes.

The women's league tees off at 9 a.m. on Thursdays. All are welcome.
