Only one case of COVID-19 now in Waldo County

Jun 01, 2020

Dale Rowley, Waldo County Emergency Management Agency director, said current data show only one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the county, which has a population of 40,000.

The data continue to show those over 70, and especially those over 80 are most at risk.

"The Waldo County anomaly in the report is Tall Pines, which has been stabilized and is now off the list of Long-Term Care Facilities with Outbreaks," he said in his report May 28.

"The vast majority of the cases and deaths were in Tall Pines...," he said. "The Tall Pines leadership and staff worked really hard to achieve that and should be congratulated."
