Hello, Palermo Community!

Wanted: ATV Trail Master

The Friends and Neighbors ATV Club of Palermo is looking for a trail master for the 2021 season. The trail master organizes work parties to maintain, repair and expand the local trails. He/she obtains and renews landowner permissions and maintains good relationships with landowners. The trail master is responsible for signage, takes calls when illegal riding or damage is happening and reports such activity to the wardens.

Does this sound like your next volunteer opportunity? For more information about being the trail master or to express interest, contact Jay Murphy, 620-2506.

Friends and Neighbors ATV Club has a 16-mile trail system consisting of a mixed level of difficulty and roughness that connects from China to Liberty. We are a family-oriented club promoting safe and responsible riding, respect for and appreciation of landowners’ rights and relationships and obedience of all state of Maine laws regarding ATV riding. For more information on the club, please visit us on Facebook:

Membership is open to all, not just residents of Palermo. The club meets on the fourth Thursday of the month (March to October) at 7 p.m. at the Sheepscot Fish and Game building on Route 3. The next meeting is Thursday, May 6.
