Panthers, Mariners, Mustangs start campaign on run

Waldoboro — The official high school cross-country season began on Friday afternoon, Sept. 6 as Medomak Valley and Oceanside — along with a few independent athletes from Mount View of Thorndike — participated in the Panther-hosted meet.

The girls team scores were: Brunswick 26, Boothbay-Wiscasset 60, Medomak Valley 65, Morse of Bath 96 and Oceanside no score.

The boys team scores were: Morse 41, Boothbay-Wiscasset 47, Brunswick 48, Medoma Valley 93, Mount View and Oceanside no score.

Brunswick's Micaela Ashby finished first for the girls in 20:55 and Boothbay-Wiscasset's Will Perkins first among the boys at 16:50.88. There were 37 starters for the girls and 53 for the boys.

The Midcoast girls individual results were: 4, Olivia Parent, Med, 22:42.35; 7, Mackenzie Emerson, Med, 22:52.69; 14, Emily Mahoney, Med, 24:00.28; 24, Jayla Robinson, Med, 27:48.09; 25, Kassi Soule, Med, 29:01.17 21; 27, Rhiannon Gould, Med, 29:38.63; 29, Kayla Betts, Ocean, 29:58.43; 30, Elizabeth Bowman, Med, 30:09.30; 31, Khyllie Cochran, Med, 30:35.36; 33, Gabby Sawyer, Med, 32:30.46; and 34, Morgan Flanders, Med, 32:51.64.

The Midcoast boys individual results were: 9, Connor Daigle, Med, 18:26.35; 14, Nolan Gahagan, Med, 19:46.39; 19, Miti Yeatts, Med, 20:05.67; 28, Jame Rose, Med, 22:00.60; 29, Ryan Lynch, Ocean, 22:04.57; 30, Evan Burgess, Med, 22:05.52; 33, Keegan Fitzgerald, Ocean, 22:53.58; 34, Odin Gage, MtV, 23:17.66; 36, Nolan Grubbs, Med, 24:12.26; 45, Logan Grubbs, Med, 26:12.92; 46, Ben Noyes, Med, 26:13.34; 52, Alessio Gage, MtV, 30:19.51; and 53, Edwin Stone, Med, 30:52.91.
