Partnering with Soap Closet

PenBay Singers concerts come early

Nov 08, 2012

The Penobscot Bay Singers will ring in the season with a program featuring "Carol of the Bells" and assorted other carols from the 14th century to the present. Their concerts are scheduled earlier than in years past: Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Searsport's First Congregational Church; Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Belfast’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; and Sunday, Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. at Belfast’s St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Admission is free, but a $12 donation is suggested. This year, Penobscot Bay Singers are partnering with the Soap Closet, a Belfast-based charitable organization. The Soap Closet distributes soap and hygiene products not available through the food stamp program. Penobscot Bay Singers are requesting concertgoers to bring and donate an item. The products carried by the Soap Closet are laundry soap, dish soap, dental supplies, shampoo, deodorant, toilet tissue and body soap.
