Penobscot Bay Singers seeks new voices

BELFAST — The Penobscot Bay Singers hold rehearsals each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at St. Margaret’s Parish Hall, 100 Court St. The first concert cycle is Dec.14 and 15. The concert is entitled “A Christmas Carol,” utilizing Charles Dickens text and complementary music.

The group is actively seeking new singers and asking previous singers from any past season to return. All ages and voice parts are welcome. To audition, please plan to attend either the Sept. 11 or 18 rehearsals. You will be asked to sing through the rehearsal then meet with Director Richard M. Dostie. He will ask you to sing a few scales to place your voice, and you will mutually decide if Pen Bay Singers is a good fit for you. The cost is $50 for the season, which includes three concerts.

The concert dates for the 2019 - 2020 season are Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. There is a special morning performance at Quarry Hill Retirement Community in Camden on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The Penobscot Bay Singers, originally the Robert Coller Coastal Chorale, has been entertaining audiences in and around Waldo County since 1973.
