Searsport — Penobscot Marine Museum will host David Middleton, as his alter ego William Foxcourt, presenting “A Yankee Expeditioner’s Thoughts” on the Penobscot Expedition Thursday, July 26, at 5:30 p.m. The presentation will take place at the downtown museum’s Visitors Center, 2 Church St.

The Penobscot Expedition, during the Revolutionary War, was the worst naval disaster in American history until Pearl Harbor. Middleton, a costumed interpreter, will discuss the failures of the assault on Magabigaduce (Castine) and the consequences to the Midcoast and Penobscot regions of Maine.

Through multiple careers, Middleton has been an ardent student of historic reenactments and living history demonstrations for more than 30 years. Middleton is a member of Col Bailey's 2nd Mass Reg't and founding member of Colonial Maine Living History Association. He has dedicated himself to in-depth study of the 1779 Penobscot Expedition in anticipation of its 240th anniversary.

Cost is $8, $5 for PMM members. For more information, call 548-2529.
