Perimeter holds closing reception for ‘Crickets’

BELFAST — On Saturday, May 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Perimeter Gallery hosts a closing reception and artist talk by Brooklyn, N.Y. artist Benjamin Pritchard. His current exhibition of abstract paintings, “Crickets,” has been on view since April and will end its run the following day. The artist describes his work as “accumulations of memory and energy and thinking in paint developed over time.”

Pritchard attended the New York Studio School, and in 2009, graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in London where he received the Jerwood Prize in painting. He is also the recipient of a Joan Mitchell Foundation Award. He has exhibited extensively, including solo shows at Daniel Weinberg Gallery in Los Angeles, The John Davis Gallery in Hudson, N.Y. and the SFA Project Space in Manhattan. He has also curated several New York exhibitions and participated in various guerilla exhibitions in abandoned buildings in both New York and London.
