Plant sale to benefit Lincolnville Community Library

Some plants from the Lincolnville Community Library's garden will be for sale May 22.

Lincolnville — The Lincolnville Community Library will hold a preorder plant sale, with pickup on Saturday, May 22, offering a wide selection of trees, shrubs, perennials and flowers.

Geraniums, all raised at Evergreen Valley Farm in Searsmont, will be offered in a choice of red, white or fuchsia. The plants will come in 4-inch pots for $5 each. Shoppers may also choose from a variety of perennials raised in the library gardens, including lilacs, iris, beebalm, phlox and more. These will come in a variety of sizes and prices.

Choices of trees, all natives raised at Crystal Lake Farm and Nursery in the town of Washington, will include mountain maple, hackberry, American smoketree, hop hornbeam and American mountain ash. Shrubs from the farm will be red chokeberry, button bush, silky dogwood, northern bush honeysuckle and common elderberry. These will all come as root stock for $10 each.

All proceeds from this sale will benefit the library. For more details on the plants and to place an order, email or call 706-3896 and leave a message.
