Belfast — Everyone is invited to come out of winter hibernation and help celebrate spring as the Rockland-based Play It Forward Music Company, LLC presents “Great Movie Songs Of The Past” Sunday, March 31, at 3 p.m. at First Church UCC, 104 Church St.

Play It Forward comprises all-volunteer musicians performing in support of local community organizations. Some 15 instrumentalists and vocalists will take the audience on a 75-year musical journey through some of the most beloved songs of the Silver Screen. “Gone With The Wind,” “The Sound Of Music,” “The Godfather,” “The Graduate” and “Titanic” are just a few of the great movies represented.

A visual presentation will silently announce some 20 songs and movies as musicians enter throughout the venue to create a sense of movement, an element of surprise and an intimate connection with the audience.

Greater Belfast Area Ministerium Food Cupboard has been named this concert’s recipient of the Play It Forward Music Company’s Spotlight on Community award, presented to a nonprofit organization that provides vital services to the local community. The award helps raise awareness about the organization’s mission; recognizes and highlights its dedication and service at the concert; and lends a helping hand with a financial donation from a portion of the concert proceeds. With approximately 100 volunteers from eight local member faith communities, the GBAM Food Cupboard serves some 180 families, with a mission to collect, store and distribute food; and promote nutrition for those in need in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.

The concert is free, with a suggested donation of $10. For more information, email playitforwardmusiccompany@gmail.com; call (732) 890-3958; or visit the Play It Forward Music Company’s Facebook page.
