Police: Man steals $500 worth of merchandise from Hannaford

Courtesy of: Belfast Police Department Police are seeking this man who allegedly stole over $500 worth of merchandise from Hannford Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Belfast — Belfast Police are seeking a male subject who allegedly stole hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from Hannaford Supermarket.

Detective Sgt. Bryan Cunningham said the suspect, whom police are attempting to identify, allegedly stole more than $500 worth of merchandise Tuesday, Aug. 14. The suspect allegedly stole high-end bottles of liquor, Cunningham said.

Anybody with information should contact the Belfast Police Department at 338-2420.

I believe the article states high end alcohol and wine. 500.00 doesnt sound unreasonable to me.

Meat and liquor might add up to 500$,other than that?Hmmm..sounds suspicious to me.

I wondered that as well.  I remember once going grocery shopping with my mom in the early 60's.  She was all upset on the way home as she had spent $35 dollars to feed us six kids.  I bet we had as much in the car that day as you did at $480.

I'm curious as to what is supposedly in those 3 bags that could possibly cost $500 plus dollars??? I spent 480.00 Saturday between 2 different grocery stores and we had so much in the car that it would not all fit in the trunk!! had most of the back seat filled too!!
