Poll: Majority correct in predicting Super Bowl outcome

By Staff | Feb 12, 2019

The National Football League season has concluded, and with it, another championship for the New England Patriots.

The Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 on Sunday, Feb. 3, and the majority of voters in our latest Courier Publications/VillageSoup sports poll were correct in predicting the outcome.

Fifty-one percent believed New England would win by seven-to-10 points, and that is what transpired in the lowest scoring Super Bowl of all-time.

Eighteen percent of voters believed the Patriots would win in a blowout, with 15 percent saying New England would win in a close game, while 10 percent voted for the Rams to win in a close game.

Three percent of voters believed the Rams would win in a blowout, with the final three percent voting for Los Angeles to win by seven-to-10 points.

With Tom Brady securing his sixth Super Bowl victory — most all-time by any player — the sports staff is asking about Brady in the newest sports poll: How many more years do you think Tom Brady will play?
