The foundation of true spiritual authority is that of love. Without love, we are merely making a lot of noise (1 Corinthians 13:1-3).

As Jesus taught, the goal of spiritual authority is to serve. It is not to establish our authority over the people. It is rather to connect them to the head, the Lord Jesus for His authority to be over them (Luke 22:25-26 & Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 4;15) .

To command the people to “Submit to authority” rather than leading then to the one who gives authority, leads to manipulation and control. True obedience is from the heart out of love, not a coerced response (James 2:8).

The purpose of the five fold ministries of Christ the apostle, prophetic, evangelist, pastor and teacher, is not to do the work of the ministry, but to equip, train and empower believers for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12-16).

It is not the role of spiritual authority to hear from God for others, but to lead others to their shepherd who leads them. Jesus not only gives guidance, but He is our Guide - The Way, The Truth and The Life.(Psalms 32:6, John 10:27).

Spiritual authority is called to know the times and seasons to prepare the people to operate in God’s time and alignment to fulfill His purpose, rather than our own quest and personal agenda (1 Chronicles 12:32, Luke 19:44).

This coming year, 2018 is the year of freedom. I hear the Lord saying, “An army is rising – a time to triumph.

In His joy- Roy
