Welcome to May and to all who are celebrating a Birthday or Anniversary this month, wish you a Happy Day and many more.

The Stinking Benjamin’s have blossomed out and the buds are getting bigger on the Lilac’s. A reminder to Jeff-they are Trilliums.

Linda Gamble and I delivered 20 May Baskets in the rain yesterday to Seniors and Shut-Ins in town. Linda delivered most of them while I sit in the car. (Old age.) I did go in to see Genevieve Delicatca and we had a cup of tea with her. Nice to have a short visit with her.

There were 8 people at Coffee Time Weds. and we put 20 May Baskets together. Always fun and each year they get bigger.

The Prospect Fire Dept. will have their monthly meeting May 5th. 6:00 PM in their Office. They could always use more volunteers.

The Prospect Community Club will have a meeting May 8th. 7:00 PM in their dining room. There will be reports on the Insurance Claims on the roof plus making plans for the Memorial Day Parade and Legionnaire’s luncheon after the Parade. All are welcome to attend. We will be holding the Bean and Casserole Supper May 10th. 4-6 PM. Bring Mother to an early Mother’s Day Supper. We wish a Happy Birthday to all Mothers on Earth and in Heaven.

The Mail Carrier’s will also be picking up non-perishable food Saturday for their Annual Drive For The Hungry. You are asked to hang items in a bag on the mail box or post. The food is taken to the Searsport Food Cupboard to be distributed.

Congratulations to Sarah Webster, daughter of Jay and Paula Webster for being named to the St. Joseph’s Athletics Hall of Fame, Class 2002 in Standish, Me. for her tremendous Soft Ball career pitching. I know how proud that makes you feel. Congratulations Sarah.

Time is running out for Prospect Senior Students to apply for Scholarships for further education. The Community Club have Raymond Webster, Sr. Scholarship in the amount of $250.00 and the Stockton Springs Alumni Scholarship in the amount of $500.00 for Stockton Springs, Sandy Point and Prospect children. The Student Councilor has the applications in her Office.

The Prospect Historical Society will hold their first meeting of the year, May 12th. 7:00 PM in the dining room. There will much to discuss and plans to be made. Hope you can attend. This group is quite active and could always use more help.

Dorothy Gordon came home from the hospital Weds. after having successful surgery. Do hope that you will heal quickly and don’t try to do too much.

I want to wish you all a safe and healthy week and please remember those that need a card or a prayer. God Bless you all.
