Days are getting better and the buds on trees are ready to open and the grass is very green and I have already started mowing. Will have to sweep it afterwards as there was a lot of last year grass that made it look like I’m haying not mowing.

So excited to see Baltimore Orioles back on the deck after an absence of 2 years. Yesterday, there were 2 males having a dispute over the suet. They now have orange and grape jelly to fight over. Also the Cat Birds are back.

Into planting a garden or flowers? The Congregational Church in Frankfort are holding a Plant Sale and Spring Fair, May 17th. 8-12 noon. They always have many perennials and the Fair has many interesting items handmade for sale.

There is now a big banner by the Community Club’s ramp showing people where they can donate their cans and bottles to the Prospect Community Concerns Emergency Heating Oil project. We have been fortunate that people have taken many of their bottles and cans straight to the Redemption Center in Bucksport and now with the banner up, we hope that it will let people know about the Fund.. Thank you to all for supporting this worthy project.

Taylor Staples of Town , has made the Dance Team at the U. of M. She will be attending the U. of M. this Fall studying Engineering. We all wish her much success in her studies and future career. The wire that run from the Fire House to the Community Center was pulled down by a white van truck. This wire was for emergency power for the Center should the power go out and it provides the Townspeople a place to get warm, something to eat or water for their homes or animals in the time of power outages. Central Maine Power will put up a different wire. The only information on the truck, was that it was a white van style truck.

Everything is set for the Memorial Day Parade and now just hope the weather man will co-operate. See you May 26th at 11:30 AM line up and the Parade will start at 12 Noon.
