Provencher ace, men's, women's, scramble play at Country View Golf Club

Brooks — Recent news from the Country View Golf Club:

On Friday, July 7, Ron Provencher of Prospect used a 9-iron to record his first career hole-in-one on the 145-yard, par-3 ninth hole. His shot was witnessed by Larry Boynton, Tucker Boynton and Chuck Boynton

On the same day, in men's league play (points relation to quota), the top five were: 1, Mike Cunningham, +4; 2, John Cushman and Wayne Merrifield, +2; 4, Bob Lee, +1; and 5, Ted McDonald, even.

The pin winners were: Bob Hooper, 7-4 on the fourth hole; and Mike Cunningham, 5-9 on the ninth.

On Sunday, July 9, in a mixed scramble, Scott Dyke, Keith Todd and Sharon Todd finished first at 31; Derek Keller, Dylan Keller, Doris Cowell and John Lynam, second at 35; and Doug Merrifield, Darryl Raven, Gary Birkbeck and Kimm Birkbeck, third at 37.

The pin winners were: Doris Cowell, 39-0 on the fourth; and Sharon Todd, 5-3 on the ninth.

On Thursday, July 6, in a women's scramble, Joette Fields, Sharon Todd, Linda Potter and Bobbie Grotton finished first at 37, with 10 putts; and Nancy Carney, Donna Nason, Nancy Blatz and Susan Hart, second at 39, with 16 putts.

The pin winner was: Donna Nason, 45-0 on the ninth.

On Sunday, July 2, in a mixed scramble, Keith Todd, Sharon Todd, Gary Snowden and Doris Cowell finished first at 32, with 11 putts; Darryl Raven, Jean Raven, John Lynam and Gary Birkbeck, second at 35, with 13 putts; and Jeff Larrabee, Donna Larrabee, Mike Phillips and Derek Keller, third at 36, with 16 putts.

The pin winners were: John Lynam, 18-4 on the fourth; and Donna Larrabee, 14-2 on the ninth.

On Friday, June 30, in men's league play (points relation to quota), the top five were: 1, Gary Snowden, +5; 2, Ross DeLorenzo and Clair McDonald, +4; 4, Ted McDonald, +3; and 5, Vince Bryant -1

The pin winners were: Ross DeLorenzo, 6-6 on the fourth; and Gary Snowden, 17-1 on the ninth.
