Creative writing, art for age 13-17

Quills to debut at Belfast library

Belfast — Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., introduces Quills: A Creative Writing & Art Club for teens and young adults. Quills will meet each month for an hour of creative writing, art-making, sharing ideas and fun.

The first meeting will be Friday, Jan. 12, at 4 p.m. There will be prompts and activities to inspire and spark creativity. The meetings will be directed by Michelle Menting, a poet, writer and editor. Menting, also an avid drawer and picture-taker, has more than nine years of experience teaching creative writing and literature. She is the author of three collections of poetry and is a member of the Belfast Free Library staff.
