Monday, June 30, the Town of Searsport will begin a construction project on Prospect Street to replace an under-pavement culvert near the intersection with Route One. This project should last about seven days and we will have one lane of traffic. Please plan for delays.

Tuesday, July 1, the Searsport Farmer's Market will be held in front of the Penobscot Marine Museum from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, July 1, starting at 7 p.m., the regular meeting of the Selectmen will be held in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.

The Fourth of July Holiday Weekend starts with "A Blast From the Past" on Thursday, July 3rd, at 7 p.m. in Union Hall. A new look and a new sound. $8 for Adults and $4. for Students. Produced by Karen Kelley, Jim Rose and Mary Brann. All proceeds to benefit the Searsport Historical Society. Come and see old friends and meet new ones. Music, laughter, and lots of surprises! A great way to start the 4th of July weekend.

On Friday, the 4th, the boat races will start at 8 a.m. at the Hamilton Wharf. The Searsport United Methodist Church will hold their auction starting at 9 a.m. Donations may still be made by calling Hollis Bagley, 567-3835 or Clarence Littlefield, 548-2993. There will also be baked goods and crafts for sale. Their lunch wagon will be selling the best hamburgers and hot dogs. The Lions Club will be putting on their usual Chicken BBQ on Elm Street. Dinners will be ready between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m.. They will be served until sold out.

The parade starts at 11 a.m. from Norris Street. Those who want to walk in the parade should line up at 10:30 a.m.

Searsport Fireworks are set for Friday at 9 p.m. in Mosman Park. Rain Date will be Saturday, the 5th. No sparklers allowed in the park.

Saturday, July 5, from 8 to 10 a.m., the Searsport First Congregational Church is holding a pancake breakfast to benefit the Capital Campaign. The event will be held at the Fellowship Hall at the church on Church Street. The menu will be pancakes, sausage, REAL maple syrup, juice and coffee. The cost is $6.00, and $3.00 for children 12 and under.

Monday, July 7, the Town of Searsport will begin a construction Project on Back Searsport Road and Bayview Street to grind and rebuild the entire road. It is anticipated the project will last three weeks from start to finish. Please plan for delays.

Tuesday, July 8, the Searsport Historical Society will feature Don Gallant speaking on the topic of World War II naval history and battles. All are welcome.

The Barney Hose/Searsport Fire Department will be holding their annual "Classic Car Show and Craft Fair" in Mosman Park on July 19th from 9 to 3 p.m.. $5.00 entry fee for cars and craft fair spaces (12X12) are $15.00. Bring your own tables. Free public admission. Contact information call 323-5255.
