Wednesday, July 23, starting at 7 p.m., the RSU20 Withdrawal Committee will meet with the Stockton Withdrawal Committee in the Searsport Town Hall.

Thursday, July 24, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Comprehensive Planning Committee will meet in the Town Hall. Featured guest speaker will be MacGregor Stocco, State Municipal Planner, Maine Department of Agriculture. This is an opportunity to learn what a comprehensive plan is and is not, how it is relevant to our community and to ask questions of a municipal planner.

Thursday, July 24, starting at 7 p.m., The Board of Appeals will meet in the Town Hall.

Thursday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Senior Safety Day will be held in the Dan Rich Public Safety Building. Coffee and Doughnuts will be served in the morning along with lunch at Noon! There will be speakers on topics of interest to all attending. Raffles to be drawn along with Beano and prizes. Fill up your car with friends to enjoy a totally free day of fun and to gather information! Town Personnel and members of the Granite Grange will be on hand to welcome you. Friday and Saturday starting at 6 p.m., the Jim Rose Show will play on Channel 2. This month Jim is showcasing Channel 2's first "out of the studio" program with a tour of the Searsport Historical Society's "Coleman House" located on the Sears Island Road. Searsport Historian Charlene Knox Farris, is Jim's guide, showing and describing each of the decorated rooms. The house, circa 1830, is a Greek Revival farmhouse that was rescued by the historical society and lovingly restored under the leadership of "Mother Searsport", Valerie Murphy. This will be shown for several weekends.

A reminder that starting Monday the 21st through Thursday the 25th, D.O.T. will be taking core samples on Route #1. There will be short delays when this is taking place.
