RESCHEDULED to April 5 due to weather.

U.S. Senate Candidate Betsy Sweet will speak at the Belfast Free Library on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at a public event hosted by the Waldo County Democratic Committee.

Sweet is a life-long activist, political organizer, small business owner, and mother who lives in Hallowell. She is running for the Democratic nomination in the race for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Susan Collins. The race has been identified in national and state media as a “toss-up” in 2020.

The event on January 12 begins at 1:00pm, is free and open to the public, and will include a question and answer session. Betsy Sweet’s presentation will be followed at 2:15pm by the Waldo County Democrats’ regular monthly business meeting.

Sweet's visit is part of the Waldo County Democrats' series of meetings with each of the Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate.
