Unity — High-energy, Brooklyn-based band Roosevelt Dime will perform Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. at Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts, 42 Depot St. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

Roosevelt Dime’s band members include Midcoast native Eben Pariser; the night before the Unity show, he and his band will share a stage with longtime Camden-Rockport High School buddy Max Cantlin and his band, Sly Chi, at The Big Easy in Portland.

Roosevelt Dime is a five-piece band that blends elements of acoustic jug-band blues, classic New Orleans soul and neo-folk to create an original sound best described as Kings County Steamboat Soul. Band members mix banjo, electric and washtub basses, percussion, trumpet and woodwinds into a sound that is sure to bring listeners out of their seats in a toe-tapping frenzy.

Roosevelt Dime, which performed at last year’s Harvest Hootenanny at the Camden Snow Bowl, has been described as a perpetual crowd-pleaser by The New York Times and featured on both radio and official showcases at the North East Regional and International Folk Alliance.
