Runners prepare to pound pavement in 'Tax Day' 5K

By Staff | Apr 10, 2019

Thomaston — Taxes are due this month, but before one hits the keys of the computer, hit the pavement for the "Tax Day" 5K, presented by Heal Accounting, on Saturday, April 13 at 9 a.m.

Registration is at 8 a.m. at Hybrid Fitness at 161 Main St.

The race is $25 on race day and $20 in advance.

The 3.1-mile run/walk is the second in the One Community Many Voices series.

The fastest runners, runner in the middle of the pack, and more, will receive prizes.

A fun twist has been added to the race to celebrate the tax day theme: a mystery "tax man" will be revealed at the starting line. Runners will receive a head start of four minutes and 15 seconds, and, if you can beat the "tax man," you will receive a special prize.

Special "finisher medals" for dogs will be given out for any canine that finish the race with their humans, courtesy of Loyal Biscuit. All dogs need to be on leashes.
