What beautiful, clear, sunny mornings we have been having. No..I am not a roving weather reporter by any means but I am very much so looking forward to spring, less than 2 weeks away! The next few days are going to be a prelude to better days ahead, possibly some thawing??!!

Founders Day Celebration April 5

The Founders Day Celebration that kicks off this year’s Searsmont bicentennial activities will be held on Saturday, April 5th at noon at the Community Building – right after the Town Meeting. The celebration, which was postponed because of a February snowstorm, will include a slide show featuring Searsmont then-and-now, a short presentation of Searsmont’s history, a huge birthday cake, Ames School students reading essays on what Searsmont means to them, refreshments (including that cake), a free gift for everyone, bicentennial caps and t-shirts and mugs and calendars on sale, and lots more. It’s all free (except for the bicentennial items for sale), and should be a lot of fun. Now that The Founders Day Celebration will be taking place on the weekend and during the day, I hope to see lots of you there.

A Big...Thank-You....

Crossroads Food Pantry, based at Crossroads to Calvary Church, located in Morrill, would like to thank Fraternity Village Store and their staff for their help in our 3rd annual fundraiser. Fraternity has participated in this fundraiser all 3 years. A special “Thank-you” to staff member, Nikki, for bringing in the most money for the 2nd consecutive year.

Pie -N- Music Night

Fraternity Village is having its “Amanda’s Kitchen – 2nd Annual Pie & Music Nite.” Hoping to have a cabin fever reliever, I think everyone is more than ready! Live Music will be by Mike McFarland-Islesboro’s Own Famous Singing Postman- on the Guitar and Bill Hahn on the Keyboard. ....and there will be a variety of delicious pies available from Amanda’s Kitchen. It will be held on Sat March 22nd from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M...even later if all are having a great time. Kids and families are welcome of course. Give me a call if you have any questions. Store – 342-5866.

Sympathies and prayers to the families and friends of Nadine Brown who passed away on March 1st.
