Town Office

With winter comes inclement weather.  Please call the Town Office at 342-5411 on “iffy” weather days to verify the office is open, or check the website at for updates.  Closures are also posted on WLBZ2.  WABI is no longer posting business closures.

If you would like to avoid being in “THE BOOK”, all your property taxes must be paid by January 31st, 2018.

A reminder:  Items such as trailers, vehicles and trash cannot be in the road right of way.  It is also illegal to push snow across a roadway.

One final time:  All dogs must be relicensed for 2018 by January 31st in order to avoid the $25 late fee that starts on February 1st.  New dogs must be registered within 10 days of acquisition.  If the dog is 6 months of age or older, you must show proof of rabies and proof if the dog has been altered (spayed or neutered).  Fees are $6 for altered dogs, $11 for unaltered dogs.  Failure to register your dog will result in a visit from the ACO and could lead to a court summons.  Our records show 25% of the dogs registered last year have not yet been registered for 2018.  Please be a responsible owner and license your dog today.  While you are at it, please provide the Town Office with a valid telephone number and or email.  We try to contact those outstanding to remind them of the deadline, but find many of the telephone numbers are invalid.

Residents are allowed to fill two five-gallon buckets of sand per storm from the town, but it must be from the small sand shed.  Due to the instability of the large sand pile and the necessity of the contracted town plow drivers having access to the large sand pile, residents cannot remove sand from the large building.
