Town Office

As much as we hate to admit it, snow season will soon be upon us. The Town Office gets calls requesting the names and phone numbers of snow plow operators available for hire. If you have a snow plow business and would like to be added to our list, please contact the Town Office at 342-5411.

If you have a good snow plow contractor, make sure you treat them well and pay on time. We’ve talked to some who have stopped plowing because of poor payment practices and a lack of consideration by customers.

The Waldo County Triad newsletter can be accessed at waldocountyme.gov/wso/user/triadnewsletters.html. The newsletter contains valuable information on scams, local programs and resources. Did you know they offer the Waldo County Wanderer Program? If you worry about a loved one who wanders, you can register him or her with the Waldo County Wanderer Program to help make a return quicker.

The previous holder of the Boston Post Cane has passed away, and the Town Office is researching to find the oldest town resident so that the Boston Post Cane can be passed along as it was meant to be. If you or a family member are or will be soon be 96 or older, and are a Searsmont resident, please contact the Town Office.

The Town Office is closed Thursday, Nov. 22, for Thanksgiving.
