Searsmont Town Library

On Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m., Mickey Sirota will present a seriously tasty treat of a lecture entitled "Nothin' Could be Finer than Eating in a (Maine) Diner." The hour-long interactive presentation will feature a 10-minute history of America as seen through the life of diners, and will introduce the lexicon of diner phrases and descriptions. Attendees will also learn about 10-plus Maine diners of note. No reservation needed, and the presentation is free.

The Searsmont Town Library will be open Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m. starting June 1.

Memorial Day Parade

Searsmont's Memorial Day Parade is on Monday, May 27. All veterans are encouraged to be part of the parade either by marching or by sitting on the viewing stand, which is wheelchair accessible.
