Searsport athletes turn in solid efforts in Bangor meet

Bangor — Strong performances against strong competition was the scenario for Searsport track-and-field athletes during a Friday, May 11 high school meet hosted by Bangor at Cameron Stadium.

The girls team scores were: Orono 158, Mount Desert Island 142, Bangor 121, George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill 95, Penquis Valley of Milo 26 and Searsport 14.

The boys team scores were: Mount Desert Island 149, Orono 141, Bangor 129, George Stevens Academy 111, Deer Isle-Stonington 16, Searsport 11 and Penquis Valley 5.

The SDHS girls individual results were:

100 meters — 19, Hailey Wood, 15.00.

400 meters — 4, Hailey Wood, 1:12.06.

Long jump — 4, Ashten Wells, 13-11.5; and 12, Hailey Wood, 11-7.5.

Triple jump — 3, Ashten Wells, 30-6.5.

Javelin — 10, Zoe Perkins, 60-10; and 20, Diamond Platt, 44-0.

Discus — 18, Lauren Burkhard, 50-11; 21, Diamond Platt, 44-8; and 22, Shannen Fitzjurls, 37-8.

The SDHS boys individual results were:

110-meter hurdles — 5, Daniel McKeon, 19.00.

100 meters — 12, Malclom Jones, 12.32; 17, Devin Fairbrother, 12.78; 19, Holden Clapp, 12.82; 25, Daniel McKeon, 13.31; 26, David Estes, 13.34; 30, Steven Courtney, 13.45; 39, Riley Colby, 14.62.

300-meter hurdles — 6, Daniel McKeon, 53.38.

High jump — 2, Malcolm Jones, 5-10.

Long jump — 17, Riley Colby, 12-1.

Javelin — 12, Riley Colby, 95-0; and 16, Devin Fairbrother, 82-2.

Discus — 18, Gabe Poulin, 86-4; 22, Colby Johnson, 80-2; and 33, William Bradley, 70-10.

Shot put — 33, William Bradley, 24-1.

Pole vault — 7, Devin Fairbrother, 9-0; 10, Steven Courtney, 8-6; and 12, David Estes, 8-0.
