Frankfort — Police charged a Searsport man with operating under the influence Sept. 9 following a single-vehicle crash in Frankfort.

Gerald Bickmore, 58, was driving south on Black Hill Road at 11:16 p.m. when his 2007 Toyota SUV went off the road and traveled about 120 yards along a ditch, according to crash report filed by Cpl. Darrin Moody of Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle then struck a utility pole, causing the SUV to flip onto its side, Moody reported. Bickmore was not injured in the crash but his vehicle was towed because it sustained disabling damage.

Bickmore was issued a citation for operating under the influence with one prior conviction.
