The Town Hall will be closed on Monday, April 17, for Patriots Day.

Tuesday, April 18, the regular meeting of the Selectmen will take place in the Town Hall.

Tuesday, April 18, from 10:30 to Noon, Food Mobile will be at the Searsport Full Gospel Church, 71 East Main Street. Anyone in need of food assistance is welcome, while supplies last. Bring your own bags or boxes. Partnering to end hunger - Good Shepard food bank of Maine.

Wednesday, April 19, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Comprehensive Planning meeting will take place in the Town Hall.

Thursday, April 20, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Historical Preservation Committee will meet in the Town Hall.

The Searsport Congregational-Methodist Food Cupboard will be holding their annual Fish Chowder Supper on Friday, April 21st, starting at 5 P.M. The cost is $ 7.00 per adult and $ 4.00 for children. It will be held at the First Congregational Church in Searsport.

Come to Carver Memorial Library Tuesday, May 2nd at 6:00 pm to join Jim Campbell, host of ‘Notes from the Electronic Cottage’ on WERU-FM and Chair of the Maine Library Association Intellectual Freedom Committee, and explore how we citizens can do what our federal government won’t do to protect us online

Thursday, May 4th, the Searsport Police Department will provide a free car seat check event at the Public Safety building. from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Please bring the car seat instructions, the owner's manual for the vehicle and, if possible, the child who will be using the seat. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 3 out of 4 car seats are not installed properly.

Carver Memorial Library will be hosting its 15th annual Spring Tea on Sunday, May 7th. Tickets are $15 per person, and reservations are strongly recommended, as past events have sold out quickly. There will be two seatings, 1:30 - 2:30 and 3:00 - 4:00. Tea, sandwiches, and dessert will be served, and all proceeds benefit the library. For reservations please call 548-2303 or e-mail

The following are the bridge game results on Friday, April 14th: First place Sheryl @ 2260, 2nd place: Greg @ 2090, 3rd place: Brenda @ 700 & 4th place: Dave @ 530. Bridge is played every Friday 1 to 3 pm at the Carver Library and is open to all. Those wishing to learn how to play bridge are urged to call the Carver Library at 548-2303 to sign up for a beginning bridge class starting May 1st, Monday 1 to 3 pm for 8 sessions. Everyone is welcomed.

During the month of March, the Searsport Ambulance responded to 57 calls for service. They had three inter-facility transfers and one paramedic intercept. The fire department responded to four calls for service and issued forty-five burn permits. The police department received 226 calls for service during March.
