On Tuesday, Dec. 5, starting at 7 p.m., the regular meeting of the selectmen will take place in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.

A special town meeting will be held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in Union Hall, to see if the town of Searsport will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen or its duly authorized designee or designees as a representative of the town to:

1. Exercise the "Put Option"described in the Sixth Amended and Restated Agreement of the Limited Partnership of Penobscot Energy Recovery Company, Limited Partnership: and

2. Execute and deliver on behalf of the Town such documents, and take such further actions, as the Board of Selectmen or said designee(s) may deem necessary or appropriate in order to exercise the above-described Put Option and to assign the Town's limited partnership interest to Penobscot Energy recovery Company, Limited Partnership as contemplated thereby.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Woman's Fellowship of the First Congregational Church of Searsport on Church Street will be holding their annual Christmas Fair. Gingerbread Houses will be on display. he Country Kitchen will have yeast bread and rolls, gingerbread boys, jams, fudge, and chocolate sauce. A handmade and knit items table, a jewelry table, a Christmas table, and a "collectables" table may spark your interest! Brunch will be available all day that includes breakfast casserole, fruit cup, muffin and beverage for $6.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Searsport Fire Department and Santa will be riding around town starting at 10 a.m. and then visiting the Searsport Fire Station from noon to 2 p.m. Bring a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped toy and get a picture taken with Santa. While there, have the child sign up for a ride to the local school in a firetruck.
