Friday, May 11, starting at 5 p.m., there will be a benefit Spaghetti Dinner for the family of Corporal Eugene Cole who was killed in the line of duty. The dinner will take place in the Searsport Congregational Church. If you can not attend but would like to make a donation, checks can be made payable to: The Corporal Cole Memorial fund and mailed to P.O.Box 313, Searsport, Maine.

Saturday, May 12, the Searsport Methodist Church will hold their Turkey Supper with all the fixings starting at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, May 12, A Salty Upbringing: Tales of Maritime Mothers, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Middle School program at Penobscot Marine Museum’s Sea Captain’s Home

Join the school kids for a special Mother's Day weekend event at the Museum on May 12. The Searsport District Middle School's National Junior Honor Society will tell tales of mothers depicted in the museum’s collections, through portraits and mementoes. A Mid-Coast Maine mother reared her children at sea or at least close to the water's edge. In later years, she sent her sons off to be captains and crew and her daughters to be captain's wives. Hear our troop of young actors tell the tales of the mothers as you tour our Sea Captain's home, the yellow house at the corner of Church Street and Rt 1. Cost: free, donations welcome.

Monday, May 14, starting at 2 p.m., the Planning Board will holld a on-site meeting at 70 Mt. Ephraim Rd. They will hold their regular meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, May 15, the regular meeting of the Selectmen will take place in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.

Baked Bean supper at the North Searsport United Methodist Church, at the corner of Mount Ephraim and the Loop Road. Baked Beans, Chop Suey, Hot Dogs, Cole Slaw, Rolls, Brown Bread, and Pies, supper. May 19,. 5:00 to 6:30, $8.00 for adults and $ 4.00 for children. The proceeds to benefit the church ministries .
