The Searsport Bay Area Lions are taking orders for decorated and undecorated Christmas wreaths. They will be ready for pickup the week of Thanksgiving. Decorated will cost $18 and undecorated are $14. To order please call either Priscilla King (548-2503) or Diane Leavitt (322-2979).

Searsport Historical Society Meeting

The Searsport Historical Society will hold its November meeting Tuesday, Nov. 12th at 7 pm, in Curtis Hall on Church Street in Searsport. Our guest speaker will be Ray Seamans, a Searsport native, who has been one of our favorite speakers for many years. This year he will be presenting a program titled "Tourists accommodated on Route 1."

Please come and enjoy Ray's research and stories. Our meetings are always open to the public and followed by a social time.

Fireside Chats with Author Jeff Shula

Wednesday, November 6, 6:30pm. Author Jeff Shula will read from and discuss his book Fireside Chats as we gather around the library fireplace. The book features photos and interviews of wise, colorful old-timers whose lives spanned most of the 20th century. The tales, in addition to revealing the resilience and humanity of each person, also opened a window into the challenges and joys of Waldo County life in a bygone era.

Christmas Collection Dedication

Friday, November 15, 6:30pm. Come help us dedicate our new children's Christmas Collection in memory of Kim Blake, who supported reading to children and loved Christmas stories. With tea and cookies. Special thanks to Kim's family, and all the donors who made this collection possible.

Crafternoons

Thursdays at 3:30pm. Crafts and socializing. Bring knitting, craft projects, or mending for conversation, questions, and new friends. Bigger group on third Thursdays, drop in any week.

A Veterans Day event will take place on November 8 in the Searsport Elementary School. Veterans and guests should arrive by 8:30 a.m. Coffee and snacks will be served. The program starts at 9:00 a.m.

People taking advantage of the free veggies that are grown by the inmates at the county garden in Swanville can get them at the YMCA in Belfast. The delivery scheduled for 10:00 a.m. today in Searsport has been moved to 2 p.m. today at the Searsport Fire House, They will be open until 4 p.m.or until we run out of veggies,
