Season starts for Belfast Summer Nights

BELFAST — The annual Thursday evening outdoor concert series Belfast Summer Nights returns Thursday, June 27, with Shirt Tail Kin performing on High Street from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Shirt Tail Kin is an alt-country rock band that plays its own songs, some covers and some traditional songs. Its lineup of seasoned players includes Mike Bennett, Pete Davis, Ezra Rugg and Curtis Russet.

Concerts will continue every Thursday through August at a variety of downtown and waterfront locations, weather permitting. Concerts are free, with donations accepted for the community series. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, or blankets for the park locations, and a picnic, if desired; but please leave the pets at home.

The July and August dates, subject to change, are: July 4, Mike McFarland and The Rugged at Steamboat Landing; July 11, Drivetrain and Maine Coast Worksongers (Bennett Konesni, Edith Gawler and friends) at Belfast Commons; July 18, The Right Track on Beaver Street; July 25, Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra on High Street; Aug. 1, Fine Times (Noah Fishman and Baron Collins Hill) at Steamboat Landing; Aug. 8, TBA at Belfast Commons; Aug. 15, Searsmont Street Band at Steamboat Landing; Aug. 22, Tuba Skinny on Beaver Street; and Aug. 29, Leaky Boot Jug Band at Steamboat Landing.
