Silverstein, Brown at the Common House

Mar 12, 2019

Belfast — Deborah Silverstein and Will Brown will perform a house concert Saturday, March 23, at 7 p.m. at the Common House of Belfast Cohousing & Ecovillage, 25 Village Road (off Tufts Road). Both Silverstein and Brown are steeped in the traditional folk scene, but each puts a very personal stamp on it.

Silverstein is an evocative singer/songwriter with a witty edge whose original music is rooted in mountain melody, ballads, blues and jazz. She has been a presence in the Boston area acoustic music scene since the mid-‘70s, when she was a founding member of New Harmony Sisterhood Band. Finger stylist Brown, who lives in Lincolnville, played around campfires in the ‘60s, in classrooms in the ‘70s and with some of Maine’s best folk and traditional musicians since the early ‘80s.

Refreshments will be provided. Suggested donation is $10-$20. Seating at Common House Concerts is limited, so invitations are required at more information, email
